FAQs

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

We only use the latest, high-quality professional equipment by well-known manufacturers such as Pioneer, Yamaha, QSC, and Sennheiser. Once your event is locked in and deposit has been received, we can (at your request) provide a detailed list of equipment that we will be using for your event.

DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP PLAN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG OR THE DJ CAN’T MAKE THE EVENT?

Being in business for many years we have encountered quite a few unwelcomed surprises. We will handle any kind of setback with the utmost professionalism and find solutions double time. In the event of an emergency, we have DJs on standby and all of our DJs have backup systems should a technical malfunction of any kind happen.

WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK?

A good time frame for booking us for a small to medium event is four to six months in advance. An event like a wedding or large corporate event, we recommend booking at least six to twelve months prior. However, we can sometimes accommodate last minute events.

WILL THE DJ PLAY REQUESTS FROM EVENT GUESTS?

Of course! Before your event, we will discuss the genres of music that you want to hear, specific songs you need to hear, and songs not to play.

Our DJs only take requests if you allow it. If you allow song requests from guests, we will “filter” requests and not play songs that you specifically said not to play or play including specific music genres. If your guests makes a request that fits in well with the music playing at the time and with the music that you want, then our DJs will try to play it.

When you book your event, one of the forms that we ask you to fill out is a playlist. You select the songs that you want to hear and ones you do not want to hear. This gives the DJ an idea of what music you’d like for the different parts of the event.

If you would like to provide your own music for the DJ to play, we ask that the music files are received two weeks in advance prior to your event.

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT POLICY?

Deposit is required at the time of booking and the remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the event date. Payments can be made online using a debit/credit card or other online electronic transfer services such as Venmo, Zelle and PayPal. Checks are not accepted.

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE if cancellation notice is not given two weeks prior to contracted event date.

Do I tip the DJ?

Tipping is optional and we do not include gratuity in the contract price. However, 10-20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job but feel free to tip more. We also equip our DJs with a card “swiper” so they are able to accept tips or additional payments during or after the event.

WILL THE DJ PLAY OVERTIME IF NEEDED?

Yes. We want your event to be perfect and we will do whatever we can to make it happen. Our DJs are able to play past the contracted time at a set hourly rate. Payment is due at that time.

SHOULD WE FEED THE DJ?

It is not required to feed the DJ and it is completely your choice. If you do wish to provide a meal for the DJ, please request that the catering director or event coordinator set aside a meal or boxed dinner.

DJ vs LIVE BAND

We get asked this question a lot. Having a live band makes for an exceptional party experience, but may not always be cost-effective. That’s when a DJ may be better fit. The musical catalogue you can tap into with a DJ is as deep as you want it to be and there are no genre restrictions with a DJ’s expansive song catalogue. Our music selection can span any genre you want allowing you access to a range of music styles that change throughout the night with the freedom to respond to the crowd almost instantaneously, creating the desired experience. DJs also easily adapt to any room size being that our space profile is very compact. A live band requires a larger floor footprint.

The bottom line, is your bottom line, COST. If your event is looking to stay within a firm budget, a live event DJ is your best bet. A live band will require paying for multiple musicians, easily exceeding the four-figure mark. Wedding bands in particular can end up as a substantial line item in your overall event bill. Choosing MAJESTIK will give you peace of mind knowing that we will deliver a phenomenal musical experience without the full-band premium.

WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer an array of ceremony audio, lighting (uplighting and dance floor lighting), photo booths and much more. If you have something in mind, feel free to contact us.
