[ FAQs ]
WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
We use professional-grade audio and DJ equipment from trusted, industry-leading manufacturers, including Pioneer, Yamaha, QSC, and Sennheiser. We take pride in maintaining reliable, high-quality equipment that delivers excellent sound and performance for every event.
Once your event is confirmed and your deposit has been received, we’re happy to provide a detailed equipment list for your event upon request.
DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP PLAN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG OR THE DJ CAN’T MAKE THE EVENT?
Absolutely. After decades in the event industry, we’ve learned that being prepared is just as important as being experienced. While we hope everything goes exactly as planned, we know that unexpected situations can happen—and we’re prepared to handle them.
If an emergency prevents your scheduled DJ from attending, we have experienced DJs available as backups to help ensure your event continues without interruption. Our DJs also carry backup equipment and systems so that, in the event of a technical issue, we can quickly switch over and keep the music going.
Our goal is to solve problems behind the scenes, minimize any disruption to your event, and give you the peace of mind that your entertainment is in capable hands.
WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK?
For small to medium-sized events, we recommend booking four to six months in advance. For weddings and larger corporate events, we recommend reserving your date six to twelve months in advance, particularly for popular dates and peak event seasons.
If your event is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to check our availability and see if we can accommodate your event, even on shorter notice.
WILL THE DJ PLAY REQUESTS FROM EVENT GUESTS?
Absolutely! Before your event, we’ll discuss the music you want to hear, the songs you need to hear, and anything you do not want played. This gives your DJ a clear understanding of your musical preferences and the overall experience you want to create.
Guest requests are always handled according to your preference. If you’re happy to have your guests make requests, our DJs will use their professional judgment to determine which songs fit naturally with the music, the atmosphere, and your vision for the event. We will always respect your “do not play” selections and any genres or songs you’ve specifically asked us to avoid.
As part of the planning process, we’ll ask you to complete a music playlist that helps us understand your preferences for the different portions of your event. You can include songs you’d love to hear, songs that are especially meaningful to you, and songs or genres you’d prefer we leave out.
If you have your own music that you would like your DJ to play, we’re happy to accommodate that as well. We simply ask that any music files be provided at least two weeks before your event so we have time to prepare and ensure everything is ready to go.
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT/cancellation POLICY?
A deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your event date. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your event date.
For your convenience, we accept payments electronically by debit or credit card, Venmo or Zelle. We do not accept personal checks.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable if cancellation notice is not received at least two weeks prior to the contracted event date.
Do I tip the DJ/PHOTOBOOTH ATTENDANT?
Tipping is completely optional, and gratuity is not included in your contract price. If you feel your DJ or Photobooth Attendant did an exceptional job and would like to show your appreciation, a tip of 10–20% is generally customary. Of course, any amount you choose to give is entirely up to you and is always sincerely appreciated.
To make things convenient, our DJs and Photobooth Attendants are equipped with a card reader, so if you would like to leave a gratuity but don’t have cash on hand, you can easily do so by card. The card reader can also be used for payment if additional time is requested during or after the event.
WILL THE DJ PLAY OVERTIME IF NEEDED?
Yes! If you and your guests are having a great time and would like to keep the music going, our DJs can often extend the performance beyond the contracted end time, subject to venue restrictions and availability.
Overtime is available at our standard hourly rate and can be arranged during the event when possible. Payment for additional time is due at the time the overtime is requested.
We’re always happy to keep the celebration going when circumstances allow!
SHOULD WE FEED THE DJ/PHOTOBOOTH ATTENDANT?
Providing a meal for your DJ and/or Photobooth Attendant is not required and is entirely up to you. If you would like to provide a meal, we simply ask that you let your catering director or event coordinator know in advance so they can set aside a meal or boxed dinner for the DJ and/or Photobooth Attendant.
We appreciate the consideration and are grateful for anything you choose to provide.
DJ vs LIVE BAND
We get asked this question a lot. A live band can create an exceptional party experience, but it may not always be the best fit for every event or every budget. That’s where a DJ can offer tremendous flexibility and value.
With a DJ, your musical possibilities are virtually limitless. Our extensive music collection allows us to move effortlessly across genres, generations, and styles throughout the evening. From Motown and Disco to Hip-Hop, Top 40, Latin, Rock, and everything in between, we can adapt the music to your preferences and respond to the energy of the crowd almost instantly. The result is a dynamic musical experience that can evolve naturally as the night unfolds.
A DJ also offers greater flexibility when it comes to your event space. Our setup has a relatively small footprint, allowing you to maximize the space available for your guests, dining, dancing, and other elements of your event. A live band, by comparison, typically requires considerably more floor space for musicians, instruments, equipment, and staging.
And then there’s the budget.
A live band means hiring multiple musicians, which can make entertainment a significant part of your overall event investment. For couples and hosts working within a defined budget, a DJ can provide an exceptional musical experience without the added cost of a full band.
With MAJESTIK, you get the energy and excitement of a live musical experience, combined with the variety, flexibility, and responsiveness that only a DJ can provide. Our goal is to give you an unforgettable night of music while making the most of your event space and your entertainment budget.
